SOUNDSKOOL 2009 MINDANAO REGIONAL FINALS – ROCK ON!

October 8, 2009

i am sure they have read the message somewhere, and they answered to the call…

how do you accept the challenge?

how do you accept the challenge?

last October 3, 15 college bands coming from different key cities of Mindanao put on their best suit, banged their heads, and scream their guts out for the 5th installment of the Nescafe 3n1 Soundskool!

ever since it’s first installment in 2004, it has never failed to launch neophyte band’s careers and spring it become household name status. Bands duch as Hilera and Letter Day Story are products of this annual, inter-collegiate band competition, that is highly supported by the Commission of Higher Education, among others.

after an hour of two of rock and roll entertainment, the Nescafe People formally announced the three bands who will be joining the roster of finalists for a special mentoring and workshop classes which are to be held – in all places (in a good way of saying it) – BORACAY! then they will be competing some time this year where they can have the chance to win 250,000 pesos and 100,000 pesos worth of musical instruments for their school, and a management contract under Sony Music Philippines. the three finalists are:

Little School House of Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan / Cagayan de Oro

EEVEE of Philippine Women’s College / Davao

Disco! Disco! Disco! of St. Michael’s College of Iligan City

congrats you guys and good luck!

i would like to thank Nescafe 3n1 Family for having me around. Also, a big hugs and thank you to Mindanaoan and Kristine of Ogilvy PR Manila.

See you at the 3rd MINDANAO BLOGGERS SUMMIT – Cagayan de Oro

October 8, 2009

i am very excited for the upcoming 3rd Mindanao Bloggers Summit, that’s going to happen on October 24 (that is a Saturday), in Pearlmont Inn, Cagayan de Oro City. the first two summits (in Davao and General Santos City, respectively) were a success and i believe that this is going to be as successful.

the theme is “Mindanao, Bag-ohon ang Panan-aw” (Change the way to see Mindanao). the summit’s aim is not just to have the bloggers across Mindanao gathered in one place and do melee action; it is to create a positive image to Mindanao through blogging and all that.

plus we have a US Embassy Dignitary to join us for this event:

from Mindanao Bloggers

“Unprecedented in the Philippine blogosphere, a dignitary of a foreign mission will be taking part in the 3rd Mindanao Bloggers Summit this month. The United States Embassy, whose ambassador has been known to frequent Mindanao on many official trips, will be represented by the Deputy Chief of Mission, Ms. Leslie A. Bassett, who will deliver the keynote address on 24 October 2009″

it’s the not disaster-friendly RICHARD!

October 1, 2009

i would really have to say the deed was okay if only he was in love with the girl. but because this is a good stunt for their upcoming movie, i cannot blame Richard Gutierrez for not resisting to this great opportunity of advertising himself as the “hero of the day”, with a little help from the ever whining Cristine Reyes. but, just like his acting, poor.

the bitter man and his TV Exposure

September 30, 2009

last September 25, the CDOBloggers (including yours truly) were invited to do a guesting appearance in Pamahaw Espesyal, a local morning talk show equivalent to Manila’s Umagang Kay Ganda, hosted by Nicole Abas and Sheila Labrador among others. we tackled about blogging, the importance and responsibilities of online media, and the upcoming Mindanao Bloggers Summit and Philippine Blog Awards, which is tobe held in Cagayan de Oro City.

now i am really sorry if i do not look my best on the spot. I look more like missing person than a professional. lolz. but here is the video of the said interview. for those who cannot understand Visayan, it’s time for you to learn. hehe

thank you very much Juvie Galve of ABS-CBN.

watch out, I AM GONNA BE A STAR!
